| The challenges come fast and furious for the Halliwell sisters in Charmed: The Complete Seventh Season. Some of them are pretty exotic, too: a visit from Lady Godiva, who inspires a certain, unexpected freedom in witchy sisters Phoebe (Alyssa Milano), Piper (Holly Marie Combs), and Paige (Rose McGowan) while dodging the evil designs of a nasty land baron. Shakti and Shiva, the ultimate lovers of Hinduism, manage to occupy the bodies of Piper and still-evolving Whitelighter Leo (Brian Krause) at a very bad time: The consummation of their love will destroy the universe. An ex-demon turned professor at the Magic School falls under a spell that causes him to believe he's Robin Hood and that Phoebe is Maid Marian. And it goes on like that: an invisible demon posing as an imaginary friend to a child; a time-travel trip to 1899 (and the site of a tragic fire) that strands Phoebe; the arrival of Pandora's Box in the hands of a shape-shifting visitor from the Underworld. Things never quiet down for the Halliwells, and their lives are even more complicated by Zankou (Oded Fehr), who shows up in a running storyline about his effort to release the Shadow, the ultimate power, and steal the Book of Shadows, which is crucial to the sisters' witchcraft. Meanwhile, Leo must make a crucial choice in order to release Piper and Phoebe from their deaths at the hands of yet another demon: Should he save them or engage in magic that will ultimately rob him of his free will? An exciting season full of new changes and characters, transitions, children, and much else, Charmed: The Complete Seventh Season carries on this long-running television show's breathless pace and intriguing mix of the arcane and ordinary. --Tom Keogh DescriptionThe Power of Three continues to work in mysterious ways as the sisters adapt to the arrival of baby Chris - and the added responsibility of having two enchanted children underfoot. Could this be a divine signal for Piper and Leo to stop quibbling and start parenting? Meanwhile, Paige continues her quest for the perfect man (or even a couple of imperfect ones) while Phoebe desperately searches for the father of her future daughter. Given the pageant of witches, warlocks and sexy wardrobe gracing the manor in the coming year, finding time to juggle multiple romances while fighting the forces of darkness will become increasingly challenging.

An unmitigated disaster..
Rating: 1
What a horrible, horrible, horrible movie.
Writer/director Mark Steven Johnson knows how to make a bad superhero movie. He proved that with 2003's misguided DAREDEVIL. With GHOST RIDER, however, Johnson raises (or is it lowers?) the bar for extreme badness such that no other director has a chance. It used to be that comic-movie fans would say, "Yeah, it sucked, but at least it wasn't as awful as BATMAN & ROBIN." Now they have a new movie to mark the bottom of the heap.
To be fair, Ghost Rider couldn't have been an easy character to adapt to the big screen. As with many of Marvel Comics' more recent creations -- he appeared in 1972, which makes him comparitively young when considered in the company of Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four -- Ghost Rider has a laboriously complicated back-story and a concept that doesn't lend itself well to movie-style deconstruction. Even so, there's not much excuse for the movie to be as wretched as it is.
The screenplay is inept, and turns what could have been a dark but enjoyable origin tale into a strangely torpid action story with vaguely defined goals, wooden characters and overheated dialogue. Layered on top of this are a collection of miscast and/or misused actors. Worst among them is Nicolas Cage, who is too old, too mannered and just plain wrong for the part of the young, freewheeling Johnny Blaze character (the alter ego of Ghost Rider). Since the script is so poor, even excellent character actors like Peter Fonda and Sam Elliott have little to do but hit their marks, deliver their lines and then go home.
Tonally the film is a mess and from a pacing standpoint it's boring as hell. A full 45 minutes passes before anything even remotely involving or exciting happens. And when a movie's lead actor is outperformed by a castmate playing a younger version of himself (newcomer Matt Long), there's a serious problem.
Mark Steven Johnson can't write a screenplay, and he can't frame interesting images, either. In all scenes, as with DAREDEVIL, the lighting is flat and the compositions uninspired. One need only compare his films to the superhero work of Bryan Singer to see how much difference talent makes.
The DVD of GHOST RIDER provides two commentaries and a pile of trailers for other films. It also offers the powerful urge to skip everything in the movie except for those brief interludes where Sam Elliott appears onscreen. GHOST RIDER is not a film to be watched with the remote close at hand. It's an utter disaster.

GHOST RIDER IS FUN!.
Rating: 5
I love Nicholas Cage - No matter what! Guess I wear blinders when it comes to this actor. Anyway, I never read the comic but I thought the movie was fun. I loved the special effects. As for Sam Elliot - he seemes to get hotter with age. My two favorite boys - couldn't ask for more!

Quintessential Faust .
Rating: 5
Ghost Rider (Two-Disc Extended Cut) As a fan of the comic books, I have to say that this was adapted extremely well. There are some variations for the sake of cinematic visuals, but these variations were necessary in order to make this an enjoyably visual experience. Otherwise, the film would have just laid there on the screen ... which this most definitely does NOT do!
I can't say this is the greatest film ever made, but I CAN say that this is a highly enjoyable endeavor, filled with references to the comic book line, with an excellent performance contributed by Cage. Some failed to appreciate his work this time around, and I have to say that they did not understand the complexity of the character, which Cage portrays in this work.
I found it highly entertaining and well worth owning. It has its rightful place in my collection, right next to Batman Begins, the Donner Superman collection, and Raimi's Spiderman run.

One of the best movies ever made -- timeless retelling of Faust.
Rating: 5
This movie left me speechless. Most people here are not learned enough to catch the really deep timeless themes running throughout this movie that are necessary to make a movie truly great. This is an adaptation of Goethes classsic, acclaimed Faust story. It is an allegory and a great story. I had goosebumps throughout. If you are a comic garbage fan you may not like it, but if you like truly great stories and classic themes, this is a movie for you. I think it attracted a lot of people expecting something superficial and just action-oriented. They did not get it and did not like it. Like kids evaluating a video game based on graphics... Chess has no graphics in their minds, but takes a lifetime to master. One of the great games of all time. So is this movie to these modern superficial people. I am making this review in the hopes that intellectual and intelligent people go see it because it will really speak to them. It is not a kids movie.

The Usual Suspects.
Rating: 5
Singer's ingenious noir thriller takes a twisty, complicated plot about betrayal and recrimination and turns it into a dark fable about the things we fear most: what we can't see and don't understand. Spacey won an Oscar for his unnerving portrayal of Verbal Kint, a man at once physically vulnerable and intellectually devious, but the entire cast--Byrne, Pollak, Baldwin, and a hilariously indecipherable Del Toro--bring their gallery of quirky deviants to vivid life. Bryan Singer and writer Christopher McQuarrie push the mystery past the tidy, clichĂŠd conclusion into a most unexpected realm, making these "Suspects" anything but usual.

Usual Suspects.

Great Movie - Who is Kaiser Sosi? This where I became a real Kevin Spacey fan. This was his first Oscar winning role and he deserved it. The story is engrossing, and the climax terrific. If you haven't seen it, you won't guess what happens. I have never met anyone who has seen this film who didn't think it was terrific.

Definitely a DVD to Own - But Don't Read Any Plot Spoilers!.
Rating: 5
The Usual Suspects is a film noir movie set in modern times. I adore film noir movies, and one of the first things you learn about this genre is NOT TO READ PLOT DETAILS! I will not give away ANY plot details in this review. If you get even the inkling of what happens in the plot, it tends to make you "wait" through the entire movie for that particular twist or turn to happen. It is so much better to watch the movie all the way through the first time, plot unknown, to watch how it unfolds. That's what makes the film noir movies so great for watching and rewatching. The first time you see it, you are caught up in how the mystery elements are linked together and unraveled. In subsequent watchings, you know what the end game is, and you now enjoy all the clues and hints that are laid out for you along the way. Where most movies can get boring after a viewing or two, I've seen many of my film noir movies quite a large number of times.
The beauty of The Usual Suspects is the stellar cast involved - Stephen Baldwin, Gabriel Byrne, Benicio Del Toro, Kevin Pollak, Kevin Spacey, and many others. Every one of these actors does a fantastic job. There are so many quotes, so many specific lines of dialogue, so many tiny eye movements and looks that just bring incredible depth to this story. Again, I don't want to give away the details of the plot for you to "watch for". Once you've seen the movie, there will undoubtedly be moments that stand out for you. But don't stop there. Go back and watch it again. Suddenly you'll realize the meaning in the way someone looks at someone else - the way someone reacts to a specific line of dialogue. It's simply brilliant.
There are a number of heavily accented characters here which means the first time through you might not really realize what someone is saying. They do that on purpose. Those people *have* accented voices. It means you don't really understand what's going on in some scenes. Again, when you re-watch, you start to sink deeper into the environment. You realize what certain words mean. You realize the context of the situation. It is a multi-layered adventure and each time you take a look, something else unfolds for you.
Definitely recommended for owning. This isn't a one-time-watch film. It's something you see multiple times, share with family and friends, and then discuss afterwards. Highly recommended!

Violent yes but it blew me away!,.
Rating: 5
I remember after watching Pulp Fiction, it became hard for me to find new films during those days that excited me. I mean "Pulp" was so unique and original that I was so stunned when I first watched it. I couldn't believe my eyes, it was funny, violent and it wasn't meaningless either because at the end of each story there is a message of redemption. Now it brings me to "Usual Suspects." I didn't really know what to expect when I first watched it because it looked like it was going to be some prison movie. But I was wrong. The plot just kept twisting and turning which kept me on the edge of my seat. It was suspenseful and mysterious, the whole bit with Keyser Soze, it's gold! And the ending is what made this movie. The film truly has THE BEST ENDING in any movie ever made. I'm not gonna ruin it for those who haven't seen it.
So I desperately urge all of you who haven't seen it to go out to either rent it or buy it. Buying it is good because this one is a keeper; I have a copy of it myself. It's always fun to watch it with someone who hasn't seen it just to see their reaction. And of course, great performances on behalf of Kevin Spacey (who's career skyrocketed after his role as Verbal Kint) and Benicio Del Toro (whose talent was recognized after his useless role as Fenster where he basically took a guy who only had like two lines in the whole movie and actually was able to turn him into a character that people care about after watching it.

Good Blu-ray trans for a great movie.
Rating: 5
This movie's resolution on Blu-ray is fantastic in most sceens. There will be a few that look a bit grainy, but over all it's very nice for being a older movie produced before HD became common.
It's just a bit weak in extra features on Blu-ray and a bit pricy.

Made an excellent gift for a horror buff.
Rating: 4
I bought this for my friend for Christmas who loves the older, pre 80s era special effects movies and TV shows. This was a little before his time, to say the least, but it was a great way of seeing where we've been and how far we've come.
I'd seen only bits and pieces of these movies over the years in late night movie marathons and cable, it was one of the first opportunities I had to see the entire movie from beginning to end. These movies are funny in so many ways, as in the silent movie era a lot of these actors were made up to look cartoonish rather than scary. I'd read that for movie make up Lon Chaney Sr. (and Jr.) didn't even use make up or prothetics but taped their faces and used hooks to change their appearence. There never was a "How To" instruction book on things, they had to learn by doing.
The only bit of criticism for this is that it's quite long. Don't think that you can watch an entire disc in one sitting. A little of these movies go a long way.

Old Horror.
Rating: 3
This is a fine, cheap package of movies if you like the old Black and White horror movies. Most are seemingly low budgetted movies, such as "Attack of the Killer Shrews" where dogs are dressed up in ratty costumes and puppets are used for close ups. I for one enjoy these types of movies.

For the true Horror afficionado.
Rating: 4
I'm a professional writer of supernatural thrillers. My Book of Common Dread reinvented the vampire, and my The Bell Witch/An American Haunting became the movie An American Haunting with Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek. Not only does my work demand knowledge of what's out there in print and on film, but I was also born just early enough to have caught a number of the films in this collection when they first came out. In most genres, a collection of works of such low acting and production value quality would be a waste of money. But we all know most so-called horror movies are second-rate Hollywood citizens right from the get-go. How many have won Academy Awards? Some of these are fun because they're so bad. Others are interesting because they have famous directors getting their start somewhere, mystery and horror writers of skill penning the dialogue, or actors who will later become famous. An occasional diamond is found among the zirconia here, but the real reason to purchase this collection is that it is incredibly inexpensive for what you get, and you can devour the cinema equivalent of nutritionless calories (like movie popcorn) for many nights of enjoyment.

Cult movies , bad quality.
Rating: 4
All 50 movies are cult classics but the only thing bad is the sound quality, sometimes you just cant understand what the characters are talking about they should at least put subtitels, but thats not a big problem because the movies are fantastic.
It realy pays to have this movie pack!

50 Classic Horror Films for a Good Price.
Rating: 4
This is a nice package to own for a great price. The quality is good on most of the films. Some of the movies in this package are really good and enjoyable, and there are some that is not worth seeing a second time unless you like it. But like many others have stated this is a good bargin for this amount of movies.
I found out that there is a 100 Horror Movie Pack, and it includes most of the movies from this pack and others. Maybe that will be a good start for some of you who don't own any of the sets yet. So if you like classic horror, then you will love this 50 Movie package.

It has no Charm.
Rating: 1
Well let's see, you have a show where the cast was clearly hired for their looks and they have no talent at all, and as for writing, forget it. I don;t think anyone on this show even knows how to write.
